Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft Funds yet another Research Project of Prof. Catherine Cleophas
The Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) is to fund the research project "From Toys to Tools – Calibrating Agent-Based Simulations for Business Decision Support". The project will be conducted by Prof. Dr. Catherine Cleophas (RWTH Aachen University) over the course of 3 years. A budget of over 285,000 Euros has been granted.
The project will create a methodological framework to effectively and efficiently calibrate agent-based simulations that can support business decisions. By enabling more rigorous, quantitative validation, new methods of calibration will make such simulations more credible and thereby make them a more useful research tool.
In the course of starting the project, the research group ADA is currently advertising a 3-year postdoctoral position.
The Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) granted funding in January of this year for the research project "E-Fulfillment for Attended Last-Mile Delivery Services in Metropolitan Areas". The project will be conducted by Prof. Dr. Catherine Cleophas (RWTH Aachen University) and Prof. Dr. Jan Fabian Ehmke (FU Berlin) over the course of 2.5 years. A budget of over 420,000 Euros has been granted. The research project will consider delivery time windows as a scarce resource and as the decisive interface between order acceptance and order fulfillment in e-commerce, e.g. with regard to online grocery orders. The project aims to extend methods of logistic planning and control in order to manage time windows in a value-based manner.
