Die Huazhong University of Science and Technology, HUST for short, in Wuhan, is national key university and is under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education in the Peoples Republic of China. It is also one of the first universities that joined Project 211 and Project 985. The university's current structure is a result of the former Huazhong University of Science Technology, the Tongji University of Medicine, and the Wuahaner Urban Planning Institute joining together on May 26, 2000. There are currently eleven subjects and 55,000 enrolled students at the university. Approximately 1,800 are international students.

The HUST is a dynamic research and education community, that serves the good of the country and the entire world. As one of the best universities in China, HUST is well known in the fields of engineering, medicine, natural science, and management studies and business adminstration. Furthermore, it makes an active effort to have coordinated development in the humanities and social sciences. As a result of its involvement in the education of Bachelor students, HUST differentiates itself from other research universities.
